It's officially done...

soo I officialy am a homeowner. The day I closed was probably the most emotional day of my life We got up early to start packing up the car and then I drove to the closing at 3 PM like normal...but when I got there all hell broke loose! The seller's agent/bank decided to NOT honor the purchase agreement that they signed weeks ago and say I needed to bring thousands of more dollars to close. I basically started crying right there. I drove all the way home crying and when I got home I just sat in the car. About 10 minutes later, my realtor called me and said I had to get back to the title agency so I could close! I closed on my house at 4:45 on Friday afternoon with bringing no extra money. We drove the 26 foot truck packed with our stuff and moved in and finished about 20 minutes beore we had to take the truck back. Talk about dramatic!

We were in Myrtle Beach for the weekend which was great because surprise the city needs a certificate of occupancy that the seller's agent never mentioned before. The first city walk thru was scheduled for Monday and the seller's agent didn't show up so they rescheduled for today at 1 and come to find out the freaking electrical repairs weren't done correctly!! So we can't move in yet! My boyfriend and I landed, dropped our stuff off at my mom's and went to the house to try and fix it. Luckily I had an amazing agent who convinced the bank to send a new electrician in to fix what was supposed to already been fixed. Luckily, my mom is out of town for the week and we can live here until we get that CofO!

Moral of the story: nothing EVER goes as planned!!

Cleared to CLOSE!

YAYYYY!!! I got word from the bank today that I am good to go! So we are closing on Friday, if everything else goes as planned. That was exciting - except I had calls/e-mails/texts from everyone telling me I had to call them ASAP - so I did and all I had to do was give them my homeowners insurance stuff. So crisis averted!

I also packed some clothes and some more stuff in the Kitchen. 3 days and counting until I move...I can't believe this!

Pack Pack Pack

So today we packed & cleaned the basement. It's clean and I wish we would've done that a while ago so we could have used the basement. My promise to myself is as the next house the basement will stay clean till we get around to finishing it!

This is what our dining
room looks like right now...

We might have secured a truck for Friday as long as the closing goes thru as planned on Friday.

So now I have the pleasure of packing up the clothes tomorrow AND packing for the long weekend in myrtle beach. I would be the only person that plans a vacation a day after I'm scheduled to close!!

Best way to describe this whole finding a house/moving: It's like having a second job! I work, I come home and pack...or stress out because I can see what else I need to pack and watch my boyfriend pack. I guess this is growing up huh?

The insanity Begins...

So I bought a house. I don't know how I did it, but I found a house and it is very huge possibility that I will be living in that house in 5 days. Just a year and a half ago, I was graduation from college...2 months after that I bought (leased) my first new car...5 months after that I moved in with my boyfriend and here I am one year later moving into my very own house. This is going to be the story of all the ups & downs that come with moving into a new house along with growing up in general.

I love my house that I'm moving
into but I cannot think of anything scarier than actually buying a house in a recession while working for an automotive company! It's just so hard to pass up an $8000 tax credit. I am constantly scared/stressed/on the verge of tears when thinking about paying that mortgage every month.

But today I bought my first things for my new house A couch and chair for the living room. Here is a picture of the couch

It actually looks better in person.

Here's the chair - we took it with us!

Things left to buy for the living room - coffee table/side tables, tv wall mount, and tv stand.

Biggest challenge: keeping the dog off the new furniture!!
